the good housewife
I spent the weekend putting comic books in labelled !!!! boxes and now they are done. You can read most of the labels from floor level. I had to move my gigantic Yearbooks from the early fifties (research materials for a ghost story of a sort, don't worry).
What else I have done over the last week is freeze three generous bags of vegetabe barley soup, two of mung bean stew with greens, and I have also made two meatloafs, two cauliflower and two broccoli casseroles, and ten cabbage rolls. For the freezer. Because my shift is going to get nasty again -- intermittently -- for a while and I think it's good to have dinner and lunch now and then.
The vegetable barley soup and the mung bean stew were leftovers from dinners we had. The rest I made purposefully for freezing.
The nice fellow has spent most of his non-work time of the last week and a half struggling with a recalcitrant broken bathroom faucet. He tried many ways to remove it and finally succeeded. So I let him off the hook as to sorting his comics. He was so relieved he has not complained a whit about any of the sorting decisions I made (I mostly went by publisher, and consolidated a lot of titles so they'd fit into fewer boxes).
Other than that, I have been on am insane spree, eating the low-sugar plum jelly. It's not low-sugar enough to justify the quantities I'm eating.
If you had a quart of mashed pumpkin or winter squash, what would you do with it? Be nice.
