I'm struggling with the infodump icks. I have this feeling that there's a lot of information that's crucial to the upcoming plot, and that it needs to come fast, and I also have this feeling that there's a lot of information that feels crucial but is egregious, and I need to leave that out, but I can't tell which is which at this stage. So I'm plodding along producing what I think must be pedestrian prose, and hoping I can incise it later.
I'm about 80% done with the draft anyways.

I'll be jonesing for beta readers in August. And it will be a bear of a beta reading job -- I need to see if I have put ththe chapters in the best order to tell the story, and I need to see if the torrent of faces is too confusing, and I need to see if the thing is internally consistent.
