Orange County, maybe? I sure see a lot of ads for big houses there in the Post. I'm "fortunate" in that I'm disabled and this year, Manassas increased the appraisal of my 863sqft condo by 50%, but they also increased the maximum income elderly & disabled folk can get and be exempt. So I'll be exempt this year and probably five or so more years until the SS COLA catches up.
At this point, I couldn't buy a condo or house anywhere in NoVA, and not in a lot of places in SoVA. I have to stay with Kaiser, which is mostly in high-income areas, so it looks like I'm here for the rest of my life.
