That same adolescent scrub jay has been harrassing my cat who seems to think it's all part of a day's work.

Stupid blue jay moves too fast and I get these lousy shots. Here's the best one I got, showing poor Loki assiduously ignoring the little creep who is creeping up on him and screaming.

He is the cockiest little bird creep I have ever seen. He's right up there with the raccoons for irritation value.

But somehow, I'm a little proud of him, anyway.

I once went with Eric for a winter picnic in Butano State Park or reserve or whatever it is, and there were half a dozen scrub jays hopping all over the table, eating sunflower seeds, but could I get a decent photograph? I could not.

Oh, Butano State Park -- it's a lovely place. And very close. And a great place for birds and amphibians.

Thanks. I think I'm going to try stalking that bird.
