I once wrote a six word story to illustrate our tendency to impose narrative on everything:

Red. Red. Red. Red. Green. Blue. Red.

Red persists when other colors fade?

Someone else interpreted it as looking for The Right Person, finding them, breaking up with them, and starting again. I kinda liked that one.

It's ambiguous.

Yeah, it is. I like ambiguous.

I think it's the first of a trilogy.

She lost him in the ceasefire.

And what happened in volume three?

The treaty was signed without them.

I don't believe that. It's apocryphal.

He finally found her in detention.
