Last night I met my brother and Stephanie and Stephanie's 14 year old friend Kara at this wonderful Cambodian restaurant in Oakland. They're in the process of moving in together again after what? fifteen years? of being supposedly separated. We had our niece and nephew along too, because we were actually up there to see "The Producers" which I had somehow managed to miss all these years, at the Paramount. We love going to this old Deco palace of cinema, but they mostly only show bad, boring movies, so we don't get tempted much.

The schedule can be found here:

The next one that seems interesting is 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea!

So I've finished the second chapter of Gratitude, which has most of the story of our boy befriending an old man, and ends on what I hope the reader will recognize as a cliffhanger (the old man has just made a wish). That's 5565 words in three days: I'm on a roll, though I remember times when I wrote that much in a day.
Maybe I will soon enough.

I've also read another long passage in Iceland's Bell, but all I can say is everybody who can stand to read novels with translator's footnotes ought to read it.

Now I must bathe and dress and take the girls around to look at fabrics for costumes for next year's fanime convention. And leave the computer to the nice fellow.
