With anything.

But have applied for a couple of jobs, and I earned $113 toward the Hawaii trip Saturday, sitting at a little table at the Loch Lomond Games. You know that I know this is not about Scottishness, right? I know that Scots are modern diverse human beings who probably eat shortbread no more often than anybody else and wear blue jeans at least as often as they wear tweed. I know this. I participate in these things for two reasons: 1)it's the place where the bagpipes happen most reliably and 2)I just figured out I can raise money for the band there.

It was a trip, anyways. I got to sit next to the Utilikilt booth and listen to the Utilikilt guys be bawdy all day. There were only two pipe bands because it's a small event: and they were the Santa Cruz Pipes and Drums and the Irish Heritage Pipe Band. After watching the Grade I bands at Pleasanton a few weeks back, and watching these guys, I have proposed a new Rule concerning small pipe bands:
all the best small pipe bands have an Asian drummer.

Now, Santa Cruz Pipes and Drums and the Santa Cruz High School Cardinal Regiment Pipe and Drum Corps have the same Asian drummer, but I don't think that's cheating.

I must deal with car parts: I have not forgotten fluff.

I have a job interview tomorrow. Not teaching: I decided not to even try that this year, but to do other things and rest up a little before deciding what to do about that.
