I know what time it is, but I can't focus on it

I'm obligated to do some presents and I haven't done them all.

However, I wrote a synopsis which was twice as long as I wanted it to be, and I have got it almost down to where it ought to be, in spite of the fact that the nice fellow wants the computer all the time and so does my son who is doing major salvage operations on his med school applications. That is, AMCAS, the medical school application service, managed to screw him up so thoroughly that none of his original 13 choices will look at his application at all, but he now has eleven new applications in, including at least two UCs (University of Cincinatti and University of Connecticut).

I won't make astounding progress until these other people are back to their routines, though.

I realized an hour ago that I also have a cover letter to do, which might help make the synopsis shorter because things I want to say I can stick into a sentence there. But I want a really short cover letter too.

I'm hoping to get the thing in the mail before the first, and then do other things.

FOr example, right now I have broth becoming on the stove, and I'm about to take the dog to the park.
