I'm messing with it. I need it to more closely match the theme. It keeps wanting to have an O'Henry ending but I refuse. At least the protagonist isn't passive, at least not any more.
Bath: and then to my friend's house to finally try to straighten out her computer. I tweaked more than half of the Death Valley pictures. When they're all fixed (mostly cropping and sizing, a little sharpening and fixing contrast) I'll see about putting them up. I did more than tweaking to the picture of me. There was one picture of me at the Harmony borax works where my expression was prety good but the background is full of tourists in a jumbly way, and another with a good background but my expresion is stupid. So I took the picture of me, cut it out, pasted it into the good background, and then had to do a whole lot of retouching so it looked decent. But I didn't tweak my features -- the skin is as blotchy as it is, the hair as messy, and there's that same rumpled red shirt (why yes, it is my current favorite, why do you ask?)
Doctor this afternoon, then Emma to the fabric store, then Bingo. Will take a printout of the story so far to work with in the slow moments.
Finish the story in the morning before I take Emma to physical therapy, check it, mail it on Thursday. Then fix the query and mail it Friday after Emma's physical therapy. And then: more on Afterwar.
Maybe pick up some magazines and sweep the floor and put away somelaundry in all that, too.
