Saturday was the band rummage sale and so I was on the job from about 7:30-5:30 with assorted breaks. We made $375, but we had a good time and I bought myself a bike. Yes! It's still up there but I will ride it back tomorrow. Most of the band went off to march in a parade to honor the basketball team which made State championship in their division. Some of the band kids were complaining that they never get any recognition, though they get first place on a regular basis: "That's because you are the parade," I said, but some other kind of fuss could be made about them.

Sunday we went to the Pinnacles and I took a bunch of pictures of flowers and rocks mostly, with the obligatory group shot of everyone but me (in this case, the nice fellow, the orange guy, and our friend Connie), and the now-traditional picture of me in my rumply red shirt, standing in front of a rock. It was lovely weather after a run of wet wet wet weekends and so the park was so full of dayhikers that they were using two or three overflow parking lots and everywhere we went there were dozens of people climbing rocks, picnicking, and chasing small children. One of the small children, who looked to be about three or four and maybe had Downs', anyway had those small features and stubby fingers, was the most stubborn child I had seen in a long time. It was hilarious. The shuttle only held eighteen people, and Wolfie's family(yes that was his name --- Wolfgang -- and his father had the cutest accent)didn't get on to the first shuttle, but Wolfie ran into the shuttle and wouldn't get off until his father finally carried him off, and then when the shuttle left, Wolfie ran after it. It took three adults and the ranger to get him out of the road and keep him out. I notice Wolfie's family did not take the cave trail!

It was wildflower time all over the hills. I have about 120 pictures, of which 20 are posted -- I couldn't post the 15 or so more that I wanted to, because Scrapbook was acting up. But you can find my "Pinnacles" gallery by following links from my user info page.

This morning I spent in the band room, mainly, and I'm going back in about an hour, so I won't get much done.

On other fronts, I may have a little job in a while, doing respite care for a couple of elderly friends.
