He's in a warehouse, pushing papers, and he feels guilty that he's not outside braving heat exhaustion like some of the guys.
On other fronts, one of the potential embarrassments of email is that if your mail program burps in a particular way you've sent duplicate emails to someone you don't know and want to be on very good terms with and you weren't sure it was okay to even send one copy of the particular mail.
As I noted, I actually added new words to Afterwar today. I also made yet another apple pie (cream cheese crust!) and put up a small batch of refrigerator dill pickles and went to the First Flush training where I managed not to be made team leader for my water test site (which means I don't have to keep the buckets and equipment at my house). They already had their first flush event in Half Moon Bay, a few days ago when it rained a whole bunch up there altbhough it only sprinkled down here. We may be getting this over with early this year. Saturday is the "dry run" in the morning so I won't be going to the demonstration in the City in the morning but I will go to the local one in the afternoon.
Sometimes I wonder if maybe I'm having so much trouble with Afterwar because -- just possibly -- it's not a good book in the first place. Ugh. Anyway, I'll finish it soon, and go on to the next thing, which is probably going to be very good indeed, if I do say so myself.
