I have applied for five tutoring jobs, one of them in Greenfield. I think I have already gotten the one in Greenfield -- at any rate I have to go to a training session in Oakland tomorrow -- they pay, $50 for 4 hours. But the job is three hours a day, I think (that would be two hours tutoring and one hour prep), with almost that much driving (mapquest says 1 hr 20 minutes each way). Let me think. At $35/hr, three hours is $105. At 30 mi/gallon, 74 miles each way is 5 gallons at $2.90/gallon, is therefore close to $15/day. Which makes the job 6 hours a day for somewhat less than I can make substituting. I better beg off. Not to mention what will happen to my hands driving like that for four days a week.
Hell, I just did it. Begged off.
Today is the first day off the Lexapro but it doesn't make any difference today because I wasn't able to go to bed till 3 in the morning and I have, other than the applications and some sanding on the bathroom shelf the nice fellow is making (also, we just decided, the site of another mosaic by moi), had a relatively useless day.
One reason might be that my flist now takes three hours just to scan.
