I ran out of the meloxicam prescription three days ago. My leg hurts.
On another front, I have discovered how to keep the apricot jam from being too soft. I think. The scum that forms on jam as it's being cooked is the tough part of the pectin: from now on, instead of skimming it, I'm going to try to stir it back in.
On still another front:
I have finished choreographing the big complicated getting lost in the party scene and I am writing the bits that lead up to it and making decent wordage again. I've got fifteen events involving twelve people and I think it goes okay. It's important to have the bits leading up to it right. I've already chucked a bit I wrote this morning.
On yet still another front:
We have three babies who just started rolling over this minute and one who crept forward two inches for the first time today. It's hilarity all over the place because these babies can't stop themselves once they get started, or they get stuck in a position they didn't want to stay in, or they just plain exhaust themselves. So they need a lot of reassurance.
Also, one of the babies who's been crawling for a while came up to one of these newly rolling over babies and planted this big fat kiss on the back of his head -- disconcerting enough for the less-mobile baby, but the crawling baby didn't stop with lips and tongue, but brought teeth into the kiss -- tasting! The less-mobile baby did not appreciate a bitten head one bit. The biting baby was heartbroken when I pulled him off -- that was one tasty baby, I guess. The biting baby is showing a great interest in other babies, concern when they cry, etc. And his eyes light up when I sing, and he claps for me.
And now you know why I do infant care.
