I do love fall weather. I know people who come from more dangerous climates think nothing of our fall and winter, but I love them. The air does turn brisk, though it doesn't frost, and the light penetrates from its lower angle making everything stand out stark and solid.

My worst fears about being ill have not been realized. I did take a day off work and I haven't had an uncontrollable coughing fit since Monday. I only missed a day or two of dog walks, though Truffle was pretty annoyed that she only got one around-the-block yesterday. Today she'll get two, and if I get home early enough I'll take her to the field or the river tonight.

And I started a new, really silly story. I blame the stupid second hand romances I read while ill.
