We went out to a bar because we're in Prague and they're medical students. We were going to go to the anarchic artist bar but their friend who works at an "Irish Pub" said it was a good night to go there. It was a lovely place, actually, not too smoky and not too dark and a nice guy about my age showed up with a guitar and played bluesy rocky stuff. Otherwise, the guys drank lots of beer and talked a lot about a lot of things, and it was all very pleasant.
I was supposed to go back on the Metro. Of course I ran out of steam before they did and Frank walked me back to the Metro station because he had no hope of explaining the maze we had navigated to get to the bar, He went back to the bar, I descended . . .
to hear a loudspeaker repeatedly saying, in several languages, "Please leave the station. The last train has left."
No worries. I happened to know that there was a night tram that went to my hostel. I only didn't know exactly where it was. I didn't have my map with me, but I figured that I would find the tram stop if I just kept walking around. I did, I came home, and I love the Prague public transportation system.
