Truffle and I have a deal. Kind of. I need to lock her in at night because otherwise raccoons come in the house and she feels the need to be very very loud in chasing them off. I don't know which aspect of that dynamic is worse, actually -- raccoons getting their dirty little paw prints all over my house, spreading dog and cat food around, and generally being vermin, or the dog barking and barking. However, because of the addison's disease, she can't necessarily hold it till morning some nights, especially if I crapped out on her the night before and she didn't get her walk. That happens maybe once a week these days. So if she evacuates her bladder or even her bowels on the easy to clean tile floor in the back room near the back door where I can find it and clean it up in a timely manner in the morning, I don't give her a hassle about it.
Another thing addison's can do for a do is make them more vulnerable to throwing up. Dogs have a hobby of throwing up, anyuway, especially in the spring -- which it is at the moment here, I don't care that the star calendar says March, the herbs and forbs and grasses are doing the spring thing and the trees are not far behind -- they eat grass until they throw up, and then they wag their little tails and perk up their little ears, telling you qwhat good dogs they are, aren't they, look what they did!
This morning I got the trifecta.
