2300 words, chapter total 5600, novel total 26 400. Chapter's about as long as it can be but the humiliations of the Midwinter celebrations are not all covered. I'll see what I can do in a couple hundred words tomorrow but I have to get ready for work right now.

. . . and I'm rethinking the timing of the next big event. It's not clearly important what happens to set it up, and that bothers me.
