Orange cauliflower. Yes, cat, very. We can only get it occasionally from Whole Foods, we are very hopeful that the new organic market that is opening in Briarcliff (<2 miles away rather than 5 for the nearest WF project) will be a Good Thing.
I am so looking forward to a real grocery within a 1/2 mile of home. The SunFresh on Southwest Trafficeway is just a bit too ornate and about 10% higher in cost than most others; the little, old-fashioned Thriftway on Main is a basic and I go there if I want to grab one thing, pay with cash and depart; the Applemarket is being run by gansta wannabees and I avoid it at all cost. Our other near market, Linwood Grocery, is an inner-city=-ripoff market that sells mostly cigarettes, liquor and beer. And spoilt produce.
New condos and apartments are springing up between us and the main downtown, we live in hope that a good grocery will take the clue and buy/build into an existing project. Until then , most of our grocery purchases are actually at our old Price Chopper that was nearer to our ol home, it's at 103rd and State Line, about a 6 mile trek.
