My father's tshirt, draped over the side of the shrine at his jahrzeit-thing last week. And in the spirit of "where is my father when I need him?" -- I heard this song on the KUSP show "Rhythm Afrique" tonight: African drums and a chanted song, the lyrics of which were in Spanish:

¿Donde estamos?
¿Donde estamos?
¿Donde estamos?
¡Andalucia!
¡Andalucia!
¡Andalucia!
Comemos
Comemos
Comemos
¡Gazpacho!
¡Gazpacho!
¡Gazpacho!

Only there's little unintelligible remarks and I'm not sure the repetitions were three every time or ever. Anyway, it went on: Pays Vascos -- Comemos Bacalao: Catalunya --- Comemos (something unintelligible with many syllables): Valencia -- Comemos Paella --

and then comes another part of which the only thing I could pick out seemed to be "Senegal."

So, what is it? A song about African migrants in Spain, having to eat stuff they're not used to? Are they complaining, bragging, celebrating, or just being silly? The drumming and chanting sounded pretty serious.

The doofus on the radio raced and mumbled through the titles of the songs, gave the information in a disjointed and confused way, and said just to go look it up in the playlist but as of this writing there is no playlist for tonight. And of course the show is over and I can't call in and demand information. And how on earth would I google that?
