How do you upload a video clip to lj that's not already on another website? The "embed media" and the FAQ about it both only address the case of things that are already online.
I managed to upload a small MPG file to my Scrapbook account using the 'Upload' page, http://pics.livejournal.com/manage/upload just as if it was an image, but to play it you have to click on the 'full size' link in the gallery. (It was really slow, though, and the first time it wasn't obvious that it got there until I went to the gallery to check.)
