That's interesting. By the way, that Wikipedia article is full of nonproductive links and seems to have no links to actual pictures. Googling around I did find some, but it's a little difficult to find real clusters of them.

Was Aalto extremely, extremely influential, or was he extremely, extremely representative of his time, or is that a stupid question? Looking at the pictures I was impressed at how archetypical they were, if that's the right word.

The other thing -- I found an exhibition of just chairs, and it occurs to me, those chairs look like the work of someone who would not want to put it in words, and no, I don't know why they look like that to me.
