the march of inflation, the dance of devaluation

300 000 Czech Koruny in early summer 2007 ~$12,000
CZK 300 000 in mid-September 2007 ~$15,000
CZK 300 000 on 25 October 2007 ~$15,569
CZK 300 000 on 29 October 2007, at 8:30 a.m. PDT: $16,014
CZK 300 000 on 29 October 2007, at 10:00 a.m. PDT: $16,029 (that is, ten minutes after we wired $16,028)
ten minutes later ~$16,033

we are so screwed. At least I sent an email before we sent the money, telling them the rate of exchange as of the time of sending.

Ow. :-(

We've decided that we might as well leave dollars where they are, and hope that the sterling rate will go back to something sane sometime this decade. But at least we *have* that option for the next few months...

It hit 16,037 and dropped back to 16,031. I have to stop checking. It's driving me crazy.
