I went to San Francisco to say goodbye to Rosemary (who was my father's best friend, though she is younger than me). She's moving back to Wisconsin.
When I left I had a cough and runny nose. By the time we came back today I had lost my voice -- really truly lost it -- and I had gone into that space where you can't follow anything on TV because your ears are stuffed up and you keep falling asleep. Every time I move I get chills.
I can take some comfort in the fact that I am the last person in my froom to get this, or at least the last staff member: I think there's a few babies who have escaped so far.
It's nine o'clock and I've been sleeping off and on since two. I'm on my way to bed now.
