entering late high spring: how do I know?

Barbecues on people's front porches.
The willows are in full bloom (I missed budburst because I am a lazy git)
My plum tree is blooming (and my cold prevents me from smelling it)
The radishes and grasses at the field are almost tall enough to hide in.
Mockingbirds are singing at night.

Do you think "it's snowing outside" counts? :-)

(Occasionally I'm uncertain whether to pout in the general direction of California or whether to enjoy the reported weather vicariously. On the whole, it usually takes me about 2 seconds to choose the second option, so thanks!)
