things I did before breakfast, redux

[ritaxis]

laundry
dishes
made a spinach frittata (cooked the spinach the night before, but harvested the thyme this morning)
marinated some frozen artichoke hearts
dusted more bookshelves, moved more books around
cut the canoe free of a year's worth of growth: fuschias, roses, and thorn-type blackberries
pulled the canoe into the driveway (this is a big canoe)
dug out three life jackets
failed to find paddles
ascertained that the paddle store isn't open till ten
told sister-in-law not to arrive befroe ten, learned she was planning on noon anyway
fed the animals
read a little story online

(I've started using the alarm, setting it to 6:30 . . . )

We actually went rowboating because even though I bought new paddles we forgot them and had to rent a boat.
