Extra dog report, day 2

I am exhausted. Every time I lie down Percy (the mastiffy one)and Truffle jump on top of me and wrestle. I yell at them: they jump off of me: they jump back on me. It's a wonder I am not bruised.

And during all this, Lola yips and howls continuously.

When I am not lying down they are not like this.

I also have to get my act together to get money for Frank's tickets -- airplane and qualifying exam.

In the UK you can buy a product called 'PetCorrector'. It's basically a can of compressed air that hisses fiercely when used. The idea is not to spray it at the pooch nut to say NO (firmly) and then to instantly follow it up with another NO and a hiss from the spray. The sound really gets to them and they seem to steady very quickly.

Our puppy was getting a bit dangerous as he got bigger - especially when jumping up excitedly at my 85 year old mother. An 8 month old brain on a full-sized german Shepherd body was most of the problem. The pet corrector really helped my mum. We've not needed to use it much, but she keeps a can with her when she's outside with him where he can get a bit silly.

Of course the fact that he stole the first one and chewed through the can probably helps. We weren't there to see the resulting panic as the pressurised can went off under his nose, but we only have to reach for a red cylinder for him to start behaving himself.
