Sudden revelation

If you're posting a response to a thread, and your post essentially says "really, I don't care about this as much as it looks like I do, can we change the subject?"

. . . you should probably not post it.

*nod* Sometimes typing half a paragraph tells me "hit the back button and do something else," either because it's evidence that I don't really care, or because I catch myself thinking "will anyone else care about this?" (In my own journal, that's what cut tags are for; in an LJ community or someone else's blog, I shouldn't post that.)

Conversely, thread drift is real and reasonable.
