Back in Auguest I got a collect call in the middle of the night. The person had the same given name as a friend of mine so I accepted it -- but it wasn't anybody I knew, so we shared our regrets and hung up. Maybe a minute.
Now I've gotten a bill for $28.87 from a telecom company based in Florida. Well, I don't have any credit to ruin, so they can't bully me into paying the stupid bill.
Ridiculous charges for something that costs practically nothing to provide.

I know that's a small amount, but I got hit not too long ago with a charge slightly less than $7 from a supposed car parts dealer in Florida. Research proved that they never charged anyone's card more than $12, apparently hoping that such small charges--hundreds of them a day, as it turned out, so they were doing pretty good--would either go unnoticed, or the victim wouldn't be willing to go to the trouble of fighting such a small amount.
(I did, and changed my card, even though none of my research indicated that any card was hit a second time. My bank, though, seemed to think I was making at least a large ridge out of a molehill.)
