All, all, all of my cholesterol stats are normal or better. Years and years of playing around with doses and combinations, and I finally got it.

Edit: and did I remember to credit the Active Dog?

Also, so as I will remember it -- I must reiterate that I am not insane, these are notes for a fantasy novel -- the thing about Harry Smith, the reason I think he is the mentor in all this, is that he dedicated most of his life looking for a unified field theory of mysticism, mathematics, music, folk arts, and everything. And I think what's happening is these other dark-arts folks are engaged in petty power struggles, and they're trying to complete various patterns that will allow them to get trivial advantages over their rivals, and Harry Smith understands as they do not that the things they're doing are somehow dangerous to the fabric of the universe. And Bella? -- she's not a cosmic heroine or a being of undiscovered huge latent power. She happens to be at the conjunction of a bunch of useful phenomena. She's some kind of artist, and I think she plays old-timey banjo, and there's something about her daily pathways areound the city. There were probably other candidates to use to complete these patterns, but she turns out to be the one everybody wants to use. And Harry Smith steps in, almost against his inclination -- which is just to know stuff and not get involved -- and there you have it.

Chain, I think, turns out to be somebody himself, but I don't know who. No, he's not a villain. That's trite.

Dang, I may write this before Hope Street.

Oooh! Congratulations on the normal blood. Mine was better last time, but could be better still. What have you been doing different to achieve success?

One hundred grams of time-release niacin each day (broken in two so I don't have too severe of a reaction) and I forget, some standard amount of lipitor. Diet -- well, less fat control than formerly because I just use a lot of olive instead, and I intend to have lots of fiber and less starch and more protein but it doesn't work out that way a lot of the time. I walk and play with the Active Dog, but I intend to do more exercising than I do.

A new intention is to have a tiny drink of something alcoholic each day, because the results have been replicated a bunch of times now about a tiny regular alcohol consumption being much better than none as well as much better than lots.

For the longest time I could keep my cholesterol in the lowest category of too high, but the ratios were not good and the triglycerides were very high. But now: everything normal, including those intransigent triglycerides.
