Peter David's SIR APROPOS OF NOTHING is a fantasy parody that deals with many of the things you're manifesting about.
I found it had much more depth than I expected, and the humor was also more sophisticated than what I had expected (which was, more or less, Piers Anthony's Xanth.)
I think one of the things I like so about Robin Hobb's 1st and 3rd trilogy is that even when the protagonists are involved in all sorts of world-shattering magical events, they more-or-less stay within their social roles at the end.
