I think I need to go back and tie up another end or two, but I think I wrote the sentence that ends this section. I've got, altogether, 60K plus words, of which 19K plus are in this section, so I think the book will be more likely 80K than 75K, not that I'm worried about it being an unconventional length, not when I can have more fundamental worries like whether it works at all.

So I think I'm going to be companioning Gloria some more after all -- the daughter who is visiting again from Australia called me today. But not a lot. And there's an ad in the paper from ETR, which is a research and development outfit for education, and they need somebody to work on a project to help alternative schools employ martial arts for their physical ed programs, and I'm all in a dither about applying. I haven't written a cover letter or updated my resume in a while. So I'm psyching myself up to it. It's half-time, pays $19/hour. And I've always, always awanted to work for ETR, I've tried every time I see an opening there.

I think I just this minute decided on the email instead of the letter.

Much talk on rasfc about the difference between amateur and professional writing. I don't believe the difference is nearly as clear as some others do.

edited to add: I sent the email about The Conduit.
