Sheesh. We haven't had much of a winter yet. Spring will start in a month or two maybe; but it won't actually be *nice* for a month after that. Spring here is a nasty muddy glary (because of all the water on streets and sidewalks) thing.

The trad four don't really describe what we've got. But if spring is when green springs from the earth, and flowers spring open, then spring is now.

If summer is ripening grain -- then it starts in May.

If fall is the beginning of dormancy -- then it starts in July.

If winter is the depths of dormancy -- then it starts in August.
