Blogging against racism will happen later. Meanwhile, the userpic for the week is derived from the illustration I made when I was working on the story I call "Tasmanian Flower Basket." It's Ishi, Shawnadithit, and Truganini, all "the last" survivors of destroyed peoples. (none of them turned out to be really the last, but their experiences were of being the last) The people in question: Ishi -- Yahi, California: Shawnadithit, Beothuk, Maritime Provinces: Truganini, Tamsanian. Each of these last people spent their latter lives recreating their culture and history for the conquerors.
