Had two wisdom teeth removed this morning. The oral surgeon -- the cute young Borg who plugs himself into the ceiling -- had been so desrirous of talking me into going for the general anasthetic that I did even though I have a horror of general anasthesia (not afraid of something bad happening, just -- the creeps). It went all smooth and quick and it looks like I won't swell much because the nice fellow is taking excellent care of me.

In a few minutes we're setting out for Death Valley. We're going to camp tonight, look at wildflowers all day (I personally will be photographing them) and drive back tomorrow night.

Emma's staying home alone. Or with her boyfriend, mostly, I guess, and at her friend's house part of the time. I got Jason to agree to walk Truffle when he gets home from school. He's a nice boy.

And the latest on Emma's leg -- her MRI was just as gorgeous as her X Ray and the orthopedist is thinking the problem is in the sciatic nerve, pinched or inflamed, we're going with inflamed for now because pinched implies heavier problems and we want to do a new run of physical therapy focussed on the new diagnosis.

We like the orthopedist.

At Bingo last night I had a slow night and I figured out the rest of the Washington Future story, which I am now calling "Convoy" for lack of a better terms and I think I mastered the "Tasmanian Flower Basket" story I've tried to write so many times. I outlined it. I don't know why this is news. I always outline novels after I first write some scenes to get a feel for them. Why shouldn't I do stories the same?

I guess I thought stories should come in one plop like the treatments to novels do.

Anyway, I'm off: tonight Death Valley: Friday morning, the Monterey Aquarium, Friday night,San Francisco, maybe the Sanarchist COffee House, Saturday, The Anarchist Book Fair, Sunday, Easter supper in Cupertino. I'm never this busy. Oh, and Monday, more appointments for Emma and also a visit with the widow to finally fix her computer up. Tuesday, Bingo again as the woman I alternate with has broken her elbow into many pieces. Wednesday, dinner for the bereaved family and followup with the cute Borg.
