not exactly stellar but I did also redo a little on the synopsis (no, really, it was an important change) and print it out again and I spent a while on the phone with the daughter of my befuddled friend, arranging what may be a 3/4-time job or somewhat less.

getting my bearings

So. I added maybe another hundred words later on. And I made a trip to the word meter to discover I'm at 57%.

That's not where I originally hoped I'd be, but I've made other progress, and . . . well, I'm negotiating for a more long-term and scheduled job taking care of my befuddled friend, and I may be able to put in a few words here and there while I'm with her, but not much. She needs a lot of company. She is anxious to do and go and think and she has a hard time resting. And when she does things she needs company to ground her and carry on a conversation and frankly, to head her off when the confusion leads her in unfortunate or unsafe directions. She's not completely wild, though, fortunately, but her meds do need to be locked up because she has lost any ability to feel that she has taken enough. And her head doesn't feel right to her -- she thinks there's damage there and medicine might fix it. I only wish.

Anyway, as far as writing, I just have to be more efficient. Less playing, more doing.
