At least the Democrats seemed to have learned something

The Democrats kept Nancy Pelosi, 150-43, to be their Speaker.

The Republicans were saying "if they keep Nancy Pelosi, it proves they didn't learn anything from the elections."  I was thinking if they didn't keep her it would prove they didn't learn anything from the elections.  It would also mean that they hadn't actually paid attention to who won and who lost in the elections.  because the progressive Democrats mostly won, and the Blue Dogs were the ones who mostly lost.  So in terms of keeping Democrats in Congress, they should have learned that people will vote for Democrats who are not Republicans with a D after their names.  

And then, too, in terms of getting anything done: Nancy Pelosi does it.  And she doesn't apologize, and she doesn't accept the Republican terms of discourse as the only language in which to speak.  And if you're going to have a Speaker, they shjould, you know, speak.  And she does.

So, go Democrats, and congratulations for getting this one very important thing right.

And you 43 who voted for teh Blue Dog?  Get a clue.
