In real life, when the villain dies, there is rarely an immediate change (Spain being a notable exception).

Al Jazeera and The New York Times have taken very different approaches to the death of Suharto. I think it reveals quite a bit that the Times won't tell you at length why people hate him.

Democracy Now has a lot of stuff going on today's (January 28) page.

Now I'm late to work, but I called it in, since I had to go to the doctor to get my hand and my voice checked. More physical therapy! (I love physical therapy. It works! I always benefit at least some from the exercises) And I have a referral for my voice.

Oh, yeah, and remember how I've been saying the carpal tunnel was maybe my neck all along? No, it was both. This is carpal tunnel, not neck, this time. Probably.

I hate physical therapy -- it hurts!

Yes, yes it does. And it's difficult to do the exercises. But then you get some mobility and stregngth back -- and even some relief, at least in my case.

I got my hand burning to get a little better this time just by doing a few of the exercises I had been slacking off on. I put off getting the referral to see if that was all I needed, but no.
