I haven't been keeping up with Making Light, or anything, but I was skimming through old posts and I found this, which is long but really eloquent.

On another front, Emma's first fashion show was really a success. It was the Queer Fashion Show at Porter College, and while the youngsters don't seem to have much of a sense of politics in sexuality this year, they are adorable, adorable, adorable, as cute as puppies, and they worked really hard. That young woman who did standup comedy ought to be in clubs and on your tv instead of applying to grad school or whatever she's doing. Seriously, even the smug, self-righteous and self-absorbed poetry was cute.

I read the link. My sister took her twelve year old daughter to the doctors last year and told them to give her all the shots, so my sister thought they had. She didn't discover the lack of the whopping cough vaccine until my niece caught it in September. My niece goes to a private school where some parents don't have their kids vaccinated. She was allowed back into school as of the first of March. She still takes medicine before bed to keep the coughs from keeping her up all night and hasn't regained her strength or stamina.
