We have teensy little fly things at night I have never seen before, inside the house.

had smaller flies than usual, or so I thought (I didn't get a hand-lens and examine them). So they may have been a new insect.
It was due to what I think was once a potato in a bag in the cupboard. (Onions smell really horrible when they go to rot, moreso than potatos.)
