Walnut Avenue Women's Center just lost twenty-five percent of its funding. Among other cuts we could not afford to make, we cut my classroom clean out. My partner was able to be folded into another classroom where an assistant teacher is leaving. I was not able to be folded in. When I come back from Prague, there will be no job waiting for me. Unless . . . anyway, they like me, they don't like letting me go, but I was the one.

I've got five browser tabs open for jobs to apply to: a couple are even something like what I'm doing now (well, all of them are in an excessively broad manner). But I'm not sure I'm going to apply for jobs before May 1. I'm not sure I'm not. But not tonight. I need to redo my resume and gather those letters.

Also. There's a state review at work next week, and that's first. Yes, it is. As long as I'm still there, I'm really there.

On another front: I also have three tabs open with the submissions information for publishers of parenting books. I need to work up a proposal.

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your teaching post. Losing your job is horrible, as I know from past experience.

Good luck with the job search and any other projects that might bring in some money.

I could like a job better if it was essentially the same job, with equally wonderful workmates, also close to home, and paid better . . . otherwise, I can imagine liking another job almost as much.
