So I got another damned real estate spam this morning. And since it entertains Anna, who has been ill, I'm copying my response here (the original message is at the bottom because it's email and not usenet).
-------- begin message--------------------------------

You know what? You're behaving really stupidly, sending off spam like this.

1. Frank Trollman was never the owner of this house. He was a kid.
2. Frank Trollman doesn't live here any more. He's grown up.
3. Frank Trollman won't need a mortgage of any kind for a long time.
4. The house in question was paid off years ago -- so there is no interest rate on it,
and you can't offer me lower interest on the house.
5. It's speculators like you who have driven up the housing costs in my town to the
point that working class families have had to leave en masse if they weren't lucky enough
to fall into a house thirty years ago like us. Do you know that Santa Cruz is the second least
affordable community in the nation? High housing costs, low wages. I despise and detest
all real estate speculators, mortgage scam artists, usuristic scum like you. I want you to
be really really uncomfortable reading this. I want you to think twice about spamming
working class households in Santa Cruz -- especially from TEXAS. Do you know what
we think of Texas business in California? Does the name Enron mean anything to you?
We will be paying for that for generations. They laughed when we had wildfires that killed
people and destroyed homes, because it created more profit for them. Not to mention the
royal hosing your Texas compatriots have given our state since coming to national power.
Not to mention the devastating effects of the Texas "educational reform" debacle that has
been forced on us.

Go away. I don't care if you personally are not a supporter of the Texas rapine we have
been suffering. I don't care if you personally are just a clueless git who doesn't know
what spamming is, doesn't know what scamming is, and doesn't realize that "lower interest
rates" means more cost to the consumer in loan fees, and contributes to the general rise
in housing costs. You don't have a right to be that clueless. You're responsible for your
actions in the world.

It gets sillier, though. I got pretty much that exact spam yesterday. For my apartment. Or possibly my apartment complex. I'm not sure how they get through the filters at work, but they do.

Yeah, that's even sillier. AT least this time they spammed a house, and one that is owner-occupied.

Grrr, anyway.
