That quote, "I've never been hired by a poor person . . ." the thing they quote to justify the idea that rich people are "job creators" -- well, I have.  I don't believe I've ever been hired by a rich person.  Ever.  Mostly I've been hired by struggling middle-class people, either bureaucrats or the managers of small businesses.

and my jobs were not even ultimately created by rich people.

That's right, prosperous people can afford to employ labor, that's why we want for there to be a larger number of prosperous people. Not for the same small number of people, or even fewer, to be even richer.

Rich people employ more labor in gross terms, but dollar for dollar, they employ less; that's why income inequality, recessions, and unemployment follow after each other. The dollars would do more work if they were redistributed.
