Let's see. It keeps on raining. And raining and raining. And raining for the foreseeable future. We have well and truly entered "when will it stop raining?" season. People grumble about how if they wanted to be this wet, they'd have moved to Seattle. There's a green slick on many outdoor surfaces.

We went to Duarte's Tavern in Pescadero, and that was wonderful. We had green chile soup (like eating a liquid chile relleno, only wonderful, not nasty) and cream of artichoke soup and Frank had a "Jamaican coffee" -- with rum and a coffee liqueur called Tia Maria. It was a long drive in the dark, and coming back the rain looked different from anything I have ever seen before. It was not just hard rain, or windy rain, or horizontal rain -- it was defined, linear rain, like, well, I said at the time like dragon's spit. Also we went to the Fungus Fair and we had a mushroom lasagna which made me think of papersky because there were no peppers and no tomatoes in it and it was good.

I should be talking about writing and I should be talking about current events but I'm going to play Sims for a while instead.

Let's see, it's a stuffed -- eggplant? (no, that would be a solanaceae too). Onion. Mushroom. Eggplant. Potato. acorn squash. Cabbage. Bok Choy. Zucchini.

How come I can't edit my replies? Even in my own journal? ANyway, I wanted to add: Tell me.

And I also wanted to add: how does paprika do you?

It's a stuffed potato, and it's stuffed with meat and onion and one olive and some bits of boiled egg. It's an appetizer at the Peruvian restaurant we go to a lot.

Paprika makes me sick, though I used to be OK with it -- I think the last time I really poisoned myself on peppers I over-sensitized myself to anything like that. I can now only eat eggplant if it's peeled, and even then it's not actually a good idea.
