I thought I might be getting well yesterday but in the afternoon when I tried to do stuff like weeding and folding laundry I was unpleasantly shaky -- not enough to keep from doing things if I had to, but enough that, coupled with my regular lazines, I didn't really want to.

Stopping because I have to go put rubber bands around gambling tickets for the band's Bingo.

I'm getting to the actiony part, the culmination of the chapter -- I'd guess I have maybe 5-7K more to it. Then the vignette in which the man without a country is born and the good bureaucrat meets the charity sisters for the first time, when he's a young teenager, before he's a bureaucrat. And then the next long chapter: in which the man without a country takes charge of the teenaged mother and works in a minefield, and the good bureaucrat faces floods, epidemics, aznd ethnic tension. And meets the teacher he will marry.

I do know what I'm doing. Why is it so hard?

I hope you'll soon be feeling better.

And maybe it will be easier to write when you're well again.
