Thanks to
nancylebov I called three senators I don't know anything about and told them I wanted them to vote to save the filibuster. My own senators are guaranteed to vote right.
I'm being surprised by small turns in the book -- nothing drastic, but things like the details of the strike. More actiony than I thought it would be.
Meanwhile, I have also cleaned out the bathroom drawers and removed the clutter basket on the sink counter, and cleared out the kitchen pencil drawer (how many overcrowded pencil drawers does one household need, anyway?) and put candles, matches, and flashlights in it. I removed the pencils and office supplies that had been in that drawer and put them into a newly-organized study drawer next to this computer. The nice fellow and I have agreed to clear out a bag of crud each every day. He started with his socks.
Bingo tonight. And now I am working three long days a week until my befuddled friend's name comes up on the waiting list for the retirement home with a really civilized and beautiful dementia ward. She likes the place -- it has flowers! And she thinks her carpenter son built it.
It's not raining out there today, but it's pretty well cold, and it's thinking really hard about precipitation. Probably just drizzle, though.
