The fellow is Miguel Hidalgo-Barnes, a friend of my son, and also a psychology grad student. He's being Super Mario, and she's being Princess Peach. She made something like two dozen costumes for this year's Fanime Con and she's already started making them for next year's Fanime Con.

They don't make them in orange camo anymore, but he got them to do it special order. He also has orange camo pants and t shirt. Why? Because they're orange, and he can. He's a landmark at UCSC: people have stopped him to have their picture taken with "the orange guy."

Aside from that, he's a brilliant pre-med student and a real fine mensch.
