There's something wrong with the word meter. 500 is not 1% of 75,000.

That's typical oak parkland of the coastal sort. The valley sort has fewer and bigger oaks, and less scrub because Indians burned the brush for hundreds of years.

The grass is only green like that from January to early May (less than five months)-- it turns yellow then.

I've been documenting the passage of seasons here, but not much of it is up yet.
